It’s no secret that parenting is hard. But as you know, it’s also one of the most rewarding things you can do in life. In this video, I share one of the biggest things I think parents, especially Christian parents, should aspire to cultivate in their kids… empathy.
In November and December, Brynn, our middle child, started writing little notes to kids in the hospital. It was completely her idea and she set a personal goal to write 100 notes and deliver gifts to Valley Children’s Hospital.
If you know Brynn, you’d know that she’s had a lot of anxiety around medical situations and has been to the ER, has had oral surgery, and passed out at a veterinarian office before. And all of it was absolutely horrific. Prayer, patience, love and a therapy called Brain Paint have collectively worked to help her brain work without so much extreme anxiety.
She used to feel powerless over her fears and she’s beginning to feel empowered by making a difference for someone else. I am so thankful for how Jesus has worked in my baby girl.
